Paris Fashion Week – Henrik Vibskov’s Fall 2018
Henrik Vibskov’s collection – inspired by the Jan Fabre sculpture: ‘L’Homme qui mesure les nuages’ got me thinking about how we live in a culture obsessed with numbers, comparisons and categorisations, but I was too flipping wet from standing in the Parisian rain to analyse the world, so instead I let myself get swept away by the vibrant colours (mostly yellows, reds and tartans) on scarves, sweaters and hats.
Henrik Vibskov’s name is normally not associated with fashion but more the universes he creates through the collections, check, “The Transparent Tongue“, “The Spaghetti Handjob“, “The Shrink Wrap Spectacular“.
The highlights for me of this co-ed show entitled, Please Analyze Volumize Moisturize Me, which took place around a central mechanical installation, with mechanical measuring mops, were the long cardigan style robes and seriously chunky footwear. Now back to thinking about categorisations.
