Tadashi Shoji FW18 why being sexy doesn’t mean comprising.
The current climate and echoes of the #MeToo campaign meant that at the FW18 shows revealing too much body might not be totally in good taste. Notably more so in New York where in 2017 and earlier on this year sexual assaults were top news agenda.
One designer Tadashi Shoji stood almost alone & remained resolute, taking the attitude that women can look sexy and glamorous and still be taken seriously. Going back to the original DNA Of his house that consists of lace, glamour, and body contouring my team caught Tadashi ShojiBackstage with Tadashi Shoji prior to the show where he explained the reason behind this unapologetic sexiness.
With a return to his classic evening wear, Tadashi Shoji has always been about occasion wear for every kind of woman and his clients include Michelle Obama, Miranda Kerr to Paris Hilton.
My favourite looks included a silver thigh-high slit dress and a gold plunging sequinned dress ‘a la dynasty’,definitely powerful stuff . Although there were of course some beautiful lace dresses and a sparkling sweetheart neckline for a more classic style .
